Well, ladies and gents. It looks like hints of Sir Brian Leveson's findings of his review are beginning to emerge. Here is a Telegraph article about it:

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/06/13/defendants-right-to-choose-judge-only-trial-leveson/

It is astonishing enough that people in various parts of our governing system believe it is their job and right to decide the limits of our birthright, but the level of arrogance and presumptuousness displayed here in thinking that the people, whose constitution it is, should be the last to hear about it is simply jaw-dropping.

Now is the time to step up and make your voices heard. Phrases like...

  • It is not the government's job or right to legislate away the people's birthright
  • It is unlawful for the legislature or judiciary to remove yet further the central pillar of Jury Independence from our Constitution
  • So the fundamental constitutional rights of the people are apparently now 'up for grabs' by the political powers of the state. Who says? The state does.
  • The government purports to give itself the power to legislate away the people's fundamental right to Trial by Jury
  • etc.

Please will people start getting busy in online spaces, comments under articles etc. Come on, let's make some noise on this.

And by the way...

You could tie your comments about the above in with the June 15th anniversary of Magna Carta 1215. Funny how it's all come out now :-)

I will be at Blackbury Camp near Honiton tomorrow at 2pm if any locals want to meet:

Some work to do! Best wishes to all,

Will
