It is astonishing enough that people in various parts of our governing system believe it is their job and right to decide the limits of our birthright, but the level of arrogance and presumptuousness displayed here in thinking that the people, whose constitution it is, should be the last to hear about it is simply jaw-dropping.

Some thoughts on the latest excitements regarding the sentencing council's guidelines regarding pre-sentence reports. Whilst a concern, this is hiding the deeper problems we face. And we're all being distracted in the process.

As part of Sir Brian Leveson's call for evidence, Will (among many others) writes to Sir Brian. In this letter I tackle the ownership of Justice within a community, the dangers of order-following, the Constitutional requirement of Juries and some further suggestions.

A short essay explaining the concept of the 'Royal We' in what is probably its proper context. This affects our understanding of the constitution in its proper form and that we all step into the role of public servant (the 'We') when we move against someone suspected of a crime.
