Andrew Carrick Gow (1848-1920) - A Lost Cause, Flight of King James II after the Battle of the Boyne - N01530 - National Gallery

About a week ago, Damien and I recorded the next chapter of the 17th century history series.

This chapter deals with some of the events between William of Orange's landing on the Devon coast, and James' first attempted fleeing the country and his successful second attempt later in December.

In this, you will see more information coming to the surface of the deception, disinformation and the duplicitous behaviour of those around him that James was up against, gradually creating the impossible position he was facing.
